The Founders

With the Rouge National Park so close to their Toronto, ON home, Darryl and Camilla Bricknell used to take their young boys skating on the virtually empty pond each winter. Flash forward almost 10 years to the pandemic - the pond was discovered and hundreds of people flocked to the area, skates/sticks in hand, ready to partake in the beautiful outdoors. One day, as Darryl was taking off his skates with the sun beaming down, a young family skated by. As he smiled at their infectious laughter, he thought to himself: "This is the life." And so, PondLife was born.

Darryl and Camilla Bricknell started the company in February 2021 to combine their love of the pond with teaching their boys about entrepreneurship and hard work. They have included the boys in all steps: choosing merchandise, marketing, packaging, and delivery.
